Parker Cemetery received an Official Texas Historical Marker in 1968.

The Parker Cemetery Located at the 1300 block West Hurst Boulevard (Old Highway 183). Entrance can be obtained on Cardinal Road. Established in the 1850’s and is said to still be in use. Isaac Duke Parker (1821-1902) donated this land for the cemetery on January 14, 1901

Many of the graves in the unfenced public section of the cemetery modtly those of neighboring families dating from the 1850’s are marked by fieldstones.
